Being a fan of the Restoration Movement, I enjoy listening to sermons given by preachers associated with the Churches of Christ. Below are some of the best sources for sermon MP3s that I’ve found.
- College Park Church of Christ Audio Library – College Park (in Searcy, Arkansas) colloquially is known as the “home congregation of Harding University“. Over the years, they’ve hosted a number of popular speakers, and they host MP3s from a number of them. Of the sermons available there, I like those given by Jimmy Allen, arguably the most popular preacher among Churches of Christ in the 1970s. They also host some lessons given by F. Lagard Smith, who, in the 1990s, created a stir with a number of his writings.
- Richland Hills Church of Christ Audio – Currently, Richland Hills is the largest Church of Christ in the world, with 6,400 or so people associating themselves with that congregation. Their preacher, Rick Atchley, has drawn much attention with his “Both/And Church” series of sermons, which details Richland’s decision to add an instrumental worship service.
- Revival Sermons – This site hosts thousands of sermons given by evangelical preachers, some of those who are from a Church of Christ background.
- Carl Ketcherside Sermons – Ketcherside is considered the godfather of the most liberal [I say this descriptively, not hatefully] preachers in the Churches of Christ. His sermons are historically interesting, as Ketcherside’s thoughts continue to influence those who populate the more liberal Churches of Christ.
- Marshall Keeble Sermons – Keeble is a legend among Churches of Christ preachers. Some have listed him among the greatest preachers of all time. That’s a stretch for me, but he’s at the least the most influential black preacher in the history of the Churches of Christ.
Bonus! The Unofficial Jordan Park Church of Christ Sermon Podcast – Okay, this is gratuitous self-promotion. Kungfubonanza.com is the home of this podcast, which catalogs sermons given from the pulpit at the Jordan Park Church of Christ in Huntsville, Alabama.
